How often do I need to schedule septic tank pumping?

The general guideline is to have your tank pumped every 3–5 years. However, we strongly encourage all of our customers to consult with our team to determine the best schedule for your unique property. Every household or business has unique usage patterns, so it’s best to consult with a professional who can advise you on how frequently your tank will need pumping and cleaning, as well as other maintenance, like inspections.

What does a standard septic tank pumping service include?

We find and access your tank, pump out the entire contents, clean the tank, and inspect its structure for signs of issues. We will also let you know if your drain field is showing any signs of failure. If applicable, we will also clean the filter.

Why is septic maintenance important?

Services like pumping and inspections are the best way to prevent major system malfunctions. Your septic system is largely underground, and thus “out of sight, out of mind” for most people. Regular maintenance ensures a trained professional is routinely assessing your system, so it runs efficiently, has maximum longevity, and prevents soil and groundwater contamination.

Do you offer real estate septic inspection services?

Yes. We assist clients who are buying or selling real estate with a septic system in place, providing pre-closing inspections that assess the system’s condition and performance. This provides peace of mind for all parties involved in the transaction.

Can you repair a damaged drain field, or is replacement the only option?
What we call a repair is a replacement. If a drain field fails, meaning it is no longer accepting water, we have to remove that drain field and replace it with a new one. There are a few ways to try to bring a drain field back to life, depending on why it has failed, but those processes are often more costly than a simple replacement, and there is no guarantee that they will work. We do guarantee our replacements. As always, we stand behind our work and will always advise on the best options for each situation.

As far as the tanks, some tanks can be reused, some cannot. It depends on their condition. Always feel free to call our office, and we can talk you through the details on repairs/replacements.

What is sewer line jetting, and why might I need it?

This is a powerful cleaning process that uses high-pressure water to clear blockages in the line or to clean lines for maintenance reasons. It’s highly effective at clearing grease, debris, and other obstructions that standard snaking cannot resolve.

Can you repair or replace a damaged septic tank?

Yes – whether your tank has structural problems or has simply reached the end of its useful lifespan, we can provide a replacement that will meet your property’s usage needs and serve you well for years to come.

What types of septic systems can you install?

We work with a wide range of septic systems and can install standard systems for homes and businesses, as well as nitrogen-reducing systems such as NSF 245 systems and commercial ATU systems.

How do I know what size septic system I need?

Our team will carefully assess your property as well as the details of the building that the system will be serving. We will design and lay out the new system according to industry best practices, ensuring that it is properly sized to deal with the wastewater produced and meets all permitting requirements for today and the future.

What is a lift station, and why would I need one?

Lift stations are a pumping system that is necessary when wastewater needs to be moved over a long distance or to a higher elevation. They are used for systems where gravity is not enough to move the wastewater, such as those in a low-lying lot or situations where the water has to be moved uphill. We specialize in installation, maintenance, and repair for commercial and residential lift stations.

Do you offer grease trap services?

Yes, we offer grease trap cleaning and pumping to help prevent costly backups and ensure your commercial property stays compliant with health codes. We also offer new installations and repair/replacement services.

Do you service Aerobic Treatment Units (ATUs)?

Yes, we can provide maintenance and inspections for ATUs and their associated components, including drip irrigation systems.
